Fall Food Drive
.
Youth and children from the Beltsville Seventh-day Adventist Church will give Beltsville residents a chance to help hungry families this holiday season.

The Pathfinders, as the youth group is called, will distribute paper bags to Beltsville homes on Saturday afternoon, October 31.  They'll return to pick up the bags on Sunday morning, November 1.  The bags will include instructions for the type of food to donate, and where to leave the bags if residents will not be home on Sunday morning.

The Pathfinders can be recognized by their khaki and green uniforms.  The group has more than 100 members who will fan out throughout Beltsville.

The church youth group has collected canned food for more than 10 years.  Last year's drive netted more than 1000 cans and boxes of non-perishable food items.  The food was shared with dozens of families, both through the church's distribution system and through local food banks.

The church plans a special Community Thanksgiving Day on Saturday, November 7, when members will bring additional food to church during the worship services at 9:30am and 11:00am.  All the food will be brought to the front of the church in a grand procession.  The community is invited to visit Beltsville Church that Saturday and participate in the special service.
